The Day After...

Monte's birthday was the day after the wedding.  I got back to our cabin late after helping to clean up and box up glassware and thankfully remembered that I had brought balloons to blow up.  Gunnar woke up while I was blowing them up and groggily helped me finish.  I know Monte is too little to really know but balloons are such an easy and simple way to totally make his day!!

After a rough night, poor boy was just overtired, he partied hard, it was so good to watch a happy giggly face!  And Kit and Jaxson had fun with them too! Kit kept wanting to pop all of them!

The lighting wasn't great so all of my pictures are blurry but you get the idea of the general excitement!  He learned a little about static cling too!

Which he found absolutely hilarious!  Monte has such great delight in life!

Pickup came over mostly to get some of our coffee (we had brought our own pot!) but also to see the boys and wish Monte a happy birthday!

We had brought a little gift with us so he would have something to open.  We are thinking that his love language might be gifts.  He loves anything "new" no matter how insignificant.

We ate breakfast at the restaurant again which took forever but I had brought almond butter bread so we had a little "cake" time!

We were supposed to go into the actual State Park with Sara and Wyatt and go hiking but because our transmission still wasn't fixed there was no way to get there or get home.  We were all kinda bummed about it but at least they were nice and refunded our room at the last minute so we didn't have to pay for a room we didn't use...So we parceled our stuff around to several friends, pawned some wedding stuff off on my aunts to bring home and drop off later and stuffed into every single inch of my parent's truck.. I had to sit in the back seat between both car seats the whole way home.  Thankfully the boys did GREAT and Kit slept most of the way so it didn't end up being that bad.

Even Goldilocks couldn't keep those eyes open!

So unfortunately Monte spent most of his birthday with semi grumpy parents and in the truck but at least he's pretty much still too little to really know.  We took him to Academy the next day and he got to get a basketball goal and his grandparents and family have brought him presents in the last week or so so in a way he's kinda getting a two week birthday!
