Kit - Newborns

I just realized that I never posted Kit's newborn photos.  They turned out SOO good!! Now I just have to decide which ones to print!  Penny did such a good job!

My dad found this chair somewhere, fixed it, and repainted it for me and I love it!! I sit in it all the time on the front porch!  I'm so glad we decided to take pictures in it because I really do spend a lot of time in it!  Great place to watch Monte, or watch Gunnar practice with his bow, and rock Kit.

We love our newest boy!!

Water Hose Fun

Just wanted to show off a little!  One, Penny's photography skills and two, my super cute kid! ;)  While we were finishing up Kit's newborn pictures, which I will show off later, we distracted Monte with the water hose, his favorite toy!  Penny grabbed a few shots just for fun and they turned out SO good!!  I love them, one, because he's super cute, but two, because they are so candid and real life.  He really does LOVE the water hose and has since the moment he discovered it before he was even a year old.  These pictures capture him so well!  Thanks Aunt Penny!!

I mean how can this not brighten your day?!

Kit - One Month Old

 - Can still fit into some newborn outfits but is mostly wearing 0-3 month clothes.

- Our scale is saying he is 12 pounds which, by how he eats, I can totally believe, but that would mean he had gained over 3 pounds since he was 12 days old which seems crazy!

- Sleeping a 4-5 hour stretch from around 10-11 to 2-3.  After that he usually does 2-3 hour stretches.  Naps several times a day kinda whenever.  I honestly haven't tried to get him into a pattern or schedule yet and haven't paid much attention to whatever one he has on his own.  When he sleeps, he sleeps.  He does take a couple several hour naps though.

-Sleeps swaddled in the rock-n-play beside our bed at night.  I tried the co-sleeper one night and he did great until he woke up to nurse.  I couldn't get him to go back to sleep until I swaddled him and put him in the rock-n-play, then he went right back out.  He does nap in the co-sleeper a lot though.

- Can somewhat hold his head up.
- Hates tummy time!
- First nap in the co-sleeper

- Does well in the wrap.  Puts him right out.
- Seems to like being at an incline better than being flat on the floor.

- Naps anywhere and everywhere although I have learned to lay him down out of Monte's reach so that I can actually leave the room while he is asleep without the risk of Monte pulling him off of anything.

- So far he hasn't lost any hair, actually it seems to be getting thicker.
- Makes confused faces a lot.... So far not a smiley guy!

- I forgot how hard it is for little ones to wake up!  Just takes so much work!  So adorable!

- Is a great errand buddy!

- Some of our family and friends hosted a "Grill and See" for people to meet and celebrate Kit.  It was so fun and low key!  Burgers, fire pit, s'mores, and fellowship!  We felt so blessed by all those who came and helped us celebrate!

Karl and Crystal came and brought their boys, Konnor and Liam!  I was so excited to get to meet them!  Karl and I grew up together and would have never guessed that we would have kids the SAME DAY!  Kit is 35 and 36 minutes older than their twins!

- Newborns with Aunt Penny! Can't wait to show those!  He did awesome!  Slept like an angel the whole time!

- First time in a stroller, to go feed the chickens.  He wasn't a fan of the wind.

- First bath!  He seemed to be fan of the first two baths, the third one he SCREAMED!  Haha Not sure what went wrong with that one!  I think in general though, he seems to like baths!  Also, these bath sponge things are awesome!  So wish I had known about them with Monte!

- So far he is such an easy baby!  Mostly just sleeps and eats!  The last week though he has been awake for longer stretches.  Just looks around content.

- Has received lots of "loving" from his older brother!

- Seems to have darker skin similar to Monte.  Not quite as dark as Monte was but Monte still has a tan going on from summer time so it's hard to tell.

 - Finally got to meet his great grandmother, Mimi, and great aunts Liz and Joni!

- One of his few intentional smiles.  I think I've gotten him to smile maybe 4 times.  So far in life he's just a pretty chilled out guy, rarely gets super upset or mad and rarely gets super smiley.

- First walk!  Slept some, looked around some.

- Focuses on your face now and seems to know when you're talking to him.  When I talk to him he seems to know my voice tries to find where it is coming from.
- Will "talk" to us now.

- Is VERY loved by Monte!!  Monte won't go to bed without asking to go find Kit to kiss him or wave goodnight to him if Kit is asleep.  So sweet!

- Seems to like tight spaces to sleep!   All curled up in a little nest.

- I think if he would give up and actually accept a pacifier he would like it but he seems to have a sensitive gag reflex and just can't figure them out.  I don't know why I'm trying so hard really except that the few times we've gotten him to take one he went right back to sleep or got happy instead of being a little fussy.

- Sleeps on his side a lot.  I generally pull him into bed with me after his early morning feeding.  Around 5 or 6 am.  Gotta get those baby cuddles while you can!

Oh those hands!
