28 Weeks

There's no rhyme or reason to when I'm posting on this pregnancy but I figure I'd better jump on it when I get the urge or it will flit by never to be seen again!

27 Weeks, 3 Days

28 weeks today aka THIRD TRIMESTER!  How did that happen?!  It seriously surprised me when I opened my pregnancy app today and saw this...

Gender - Boy #2!!!

Name - No idea... ok we have a couple ideas now but nothing definite or even true "maybes"

Weight Gain - 23 pounds

Cravings - none to speak of...

  28 weeks

Movement - He has definitely upped his movements the last week or so.  He still seems calmer than Monte or maybe he's just different not necessarily calmer.  Monte jabbed and struck, this one seems to roll and push more... or something like that.  It's definitely impossible to forget there's a baby in there now.

Symptoms - Starting to have some trouble sleeping.  I keep waking up on my back having a hard time breathing.  The second I roll to my side I'm fine.  I don't know why I keep going to my back during my sleep.  Gunnar told me I never slept on my back before so I don't know why I keep doing it now.   Pregnancy is weird!

27 weeks and 3 days at Monjeau Peak, Ruidoso, New Mexico

27 weeks and 3 days with Baby #2 at Monjeau Lookout and 32 weeks pregnant with Monte at Ski Apache.

Apparently we're starting a tradition of taking our children to the mountains before they're born!  And then taking them back after they're born.  I think I'm very ok with this! haha

Can't wait to meet this little guy!

Ruidoso

So we decided kinda last minute to take an end of the summer trip to Ruidoso, NM before Reb heads off to Aggie land and we have baby #2.   We left late Monday evening and made it to Kermit to see Mimi and break up the trip some.  Tuesday we only had 4 hours to Ruidoso instead of 7.  Here is the view from our cabin.  Boy do I miss that mountain air!

The next morning we headed off to Monjeau Peak Lookout.   I had never been to Ruidoso in the summer time so it seemed weird to see everything green and without snow! Monte napped on the way up the mountain and stayed asleep awhile after we got there so we got to hike around a bit on non Monte friendly terrain.

27 weeks with Sullenger Baby 2 on top of the mountain!

On the way back to the car we discovered this hornets nest....Creepy!

Monte woke up in time to make it up to the lookout!  It is an old fire lookout built in 1936 and reconstructed in 1940.  It's closed during the winter due to snow so I had never been before and didn't even know about it.

FAMILY

It took about 6 tried to get the camera set up decently.  We finally propped it up on my shoes to get it high enough, hence me in my socks.

Kinda love my little monkey boy!

Monte discovered a hole...

And is rather bossy and has an...

...obliging uncle ;)

27 weeks at the Lookout!

Monte got a hold of Uncle's GoPro.  The results were rather comical!

Getting down Monte kept trying to take the steps two at a time!

After Monjeau we headed up to Ski Apache.  It looked so strange without any snow!  Smaller somehow.  I think because without snow it's more accessible, you could just walk right up that run.

This is Capitan, a favorite and well known ski run!

The Gondola. Monte liked watching the cars swing by.

Another shot of Capitan.  That bridge is not there in the winter and you can't even see the creek that it crosses because it's covered in snow.

Back at the cabin there was lots of ping pong playing!  I'm pretty sure Sid was the all time winner!

Monte enjoyed the empty ash bucket a lot!

Wednesday morning Gunnar let me sleep in and when I got up he showed me pictures of their surprise visitor.  Apparently she was so friendly she ate out of Gunnar's hand.

They said Monte wasn't too sure what to think about her and wouldn't let her eat from his hand but would throw food for her.

I think he did finally touch her hesitantly.

We did some shopping, visited a museum, played tripoly both nights, and enjoyed the balcony!

Also, on another note, Monte has now figured out how to climb on furniture!  Nothing is safe!
