Penny and Johnathon Aaron got married!! The wedding was perfectly spectacular! Such a great venue! On a more personal level, it wasn't quite so spectacular. We got off early, made good time, the boys were doing great, and then....
Kit wanted to make sure we had enough blueberries for the trip!

And then..... Our transmission went out!! Right outside of Fort Stockton. We drove about 25-30 miles an hour all the way to Alpine... that's 60 miles. Kit was LOOSING his mind by the time we finally got there! I even gave in a tried my phone, we usually never let them have our phones, but even that didn't work very long. Poor guy! Monte kept telling Gunnar, "Go faster, Daddy!" hehe
We had to leave our truck in Alpine at a mechanic. And fit ALL our stuff into everyone else's vehicles and made everyone late. Sorry! Anyway we all got there! It was SOOOO windy so we just unloaded and got a lay of the land so to speak, then headed to get ready for the rehearsal. Gunnar and Wyatt stayed behind to get the truck figured out and try to find a rental car. I drove Sara so that she could finish making the arch decoration and the boys packed into my parent's truck and thankfully slept the rest of the way! Mom had worn them out playing outside at the Diary Queen while we were trying to figure everything out and move stuff! Unfortunately, they were all out of rentals so they hitched a ride with Logan and Arielle on their way through.
Ready to rehearse!
The venue was so ruggedly beautiful. Even though the wind was so awful it created a dusty haze over the mountains that was actually quite beautiful.
The boys loved the rich supply of rocks and dirt to play with!
and sticks... Lots of sticks!
Have we mentioned how much Kit loves rocks?! Also, how handsome is he?!
The ceremony site was below this mountain with all these jagged rim rocks, so rugged and beautiful..
Penny with two of her ring bearers.
Practice went well. Jaxson was a little ham and loved all the attention. We don't think they had a clue what was actually happening but they were sure cute!
Here comes the bride...
We decided to move the rehearsal dinner inside an old bunk house because it was oh so windy! Penny and JA left with the photographer to do a scouting trip and everyone just ate and talked while we waited for them to get back..
The rehearsal dinner was a little fun and chaotic. Tired, hungry boys are so fun... Everyone told stories about Johnathon and Penny. It was fun to hear stories about JA when he was little! We also eulogized them and prayed a blessing over them.
Kit found a pile of rocks and laid them out beside a table one by one in a specific order during the dinner. Not sure what his decision making process was, but he was intent on getting each rock in its absolute perfect place!
