I know I'll be saying this for the rest of my life but I can't believe my baby is already one month old!!! (Well he was on Friday anyway...I'm a little late)
-Weighs 11 1/2 lbs (according to our home scale)
- Sleeps- 3-4 hours at night, eats then goes right back out usually; takes two good 2-3 hour naps during the day with a cat nap here and there
- Is super happy in the morning
- Recognizes my voice ....Love it!
- I've started wearing him sometimes now - especially if his nap gets interrupted and he's still sleepy but won't go back to sleep...Works like a charm
- Can make eye contact now and will follow your face if you move
- Loves bathes
- Is balding
- Loves to cuddle
- Started cloth diapers at home this last week. I love them! Nothing like a big ol' puffy baby bottom!
- Sleeps in his pack 'n' play next to my side of the bed. I often pull him into bed with us in the morning.
- Has had his first few bottles from Daddy.
- Does not sleep well in quiet (I guess Mama likes noise/music too much)
- Naps all over the house
- Mostly holds up his head on his own now....Still does the head bob some
- Takes his sweet time waking up...its seriously the cutest thing ever! All his faces and stretching...Its quite the process
- Can stand if you hold him up
- Most people say he looks like Gunnar/a Sullenger, a few people say he looks like me or Jonathan
- Already has a "Real person" face and doesn't just look like an infant
-Will grin at me now...sometimes at Gunnar...grins a lot just randomly
- Jury is still out on how he feels about walks
- Nursing like a champ!
We love him so much and can't imagine our life without him!

Mother's Day

Monte and I braved church alone for the first time and Eva finally got to see him awake! (sorry for the blurry pic...I really need a new phone)
Penny's birthday was Monday so Sunday evening we went out to the ranch and had a birthday/mother's day celebration. We shot skeet, ate steak, and generally enjoyed being together. Gran and Papa came too. With Mom's birthday Thursday, Gran's Friday, Penny's Monday and Mother's Day there was plenty of reasons for merriment!
On the way out to the ranch Gunnar and I saw a snake attempting to eat a lizard in the road. The lizard was hanging onto the rocks for dear life. The snake finally won and picked up the lizard about a foot into the air and carried him to the bushes. It was crazy!
Gunnar followed with the camera. If you look closely you can actually see Gunnar's reflection in the snake's eye!
This little turkey did great! The shot guns didn't even phase him! (and yes we kept him far enough away from the gun shots as to not damage his hearing)
"Oh it's soo bright Mom!"
Gran and Papa kept him for a while while I was shooting.
He loves his Mi-Molly!
I did really well the first time, but the second time I got out first BUT not until I had given Wyatt a letter haha
Dad bought all us girls a birthday/Mother's Day lilies. Mine bloomed the next day... So pretty!
We spent Mother's Day with Gunnar's family Saturday evening but sadly I did not bring our camera and got no pictures... Boo! It was a gorgeous evening and we sat out on the porch swing while Sid grilled burgers! They have a kid goat who is friends with the dog so that's always entertaining!
All in all I had a great first Mother's Day weekend! I am also so very grateful for all the mothers and grandmothers in my life. Gunnar and I are blessed with so many Godly women in our lives who have shaped and molded our lives and helped us become who we are today. God bless moms!

Three weeks!
My favorite three week old!! I super love this little guy, even when he keeps me up all night! In reality he's doing great most nights!! We can't get over how much we love him and that he's all ours!! Oh and I think it's official now that he actually does love baths! Until we have to get him out that is...

Relaxing with Aunt Sara at the pedicure salon.
Hanging out with Mrs. Kristi at our marriage group pot luck last night. She wanted to practice for her future grandson!
Ahh those cheeks and lips!
Nothing like a naked baby with a crooked grin!

Fishing
Last Sunday the Hustons, Penny, Jonathan and us went fishing out at some friends pond in Mertzon. It's a neat location to hang out and fish. I had never been out there before. I was getting over a virus so I probably wasn't always the best company but it was still fun.
Mason and Monte are just 4 or 5 weeks apart so they had fun sleeping and cooing together haha
The guys fished and us girls played with babies and talked. I think Brittany fished a little too and I went and hung out with Gunnar a few times. It was a beautiful day to be outside.

Gunnar and J
Napping buddies!
Hanging out with Aunt Penny.
Gunnar caught a few croppies, and Jonathan finally caught a catfish.
It took all three of them to get it on the bank.
I think it ended up weighing 4 lbs.
The babies helped too!
New mamas!
An awesome storm blew in so we had to leave but the clouds and lightning were spectacular to watch!
