Darn Plumbing

So, like often happens with older homes, we had a plumbing problem! So Gunnar got to work!  He wasn't sure what he'd find but he decided to try it on his own first before hiring a plumber!

So another thing with older homes is that some parts have been updated, some parts haven't... Most of the plumbing in our house has been updated thankfully but in this one foot and a half section Gunnar had to deal with FOUR different types of material!  haha

Plus our house is pier and beam, which makes plumbing jobs easier right? Wrong!  This part was coming out of our concrete porch!  So if the line going into the concrete was bad we would have to reroute the whole drainage line around the porch and back under the house...

After looking at it, having a plumber friend come by and check it out for us, and going to a couple different plumbing stores, he finally got everything he needed to be able to fix it right!

So instead of having to spend several thousand dollars to pay a plumber to reroute the whole drainage line, Gunnar fixed it for a couple hundred dollars!  Whoop Whoop! And he had some good little helpers too!

Monte actually told me this morning, "Mama, I need to go work!"

Yay for smart hard working husbands!!
