Kit - Two Year Old Photo Shoot

So Kit turned two over three months ago...The day we bought our house and moved... so I'm a little late...  Penny and JA came out and did his two year shoot while babysitting for us!  Win win!! Plus we got to capture some of the magic of our new property in the Fall!

While the top one here is adorable the bottom one captures who Kit is better.  He's just kinda a seriously dude.

I love these two because one, the pockets, and two, that slight little head tilt grin that is so classically Kit.  Right around this time and even until now he LOVES pockets and walks around like this often!

This sweet smile is Kit in a nut shell!  I love it!

I love these because ever since Kit was old enough to crawl he has loved rocks!  Especially throwing them but even just carrying them around.

Thanks Aunt Penny and Uncle JA!!!

Frosty the Snowman

So I started this post about 6 weeks ago....But I do want to remember this night so I'm going to post it anyway.

The boys had both had late naps for some reason so I decided that we would let them stay up late and have our first Family Christmas movie night! I had gotten their new Christmas pajamas that day too so that made it an even better day because as every parent knows kids in Christmas pajamas is the best ever!

I love this one!  Kit definitely adores his older brother!

We folded out the couch bed which made the night for the boys!  We could have not even watched a movie and they would have still be delighted!

Frosty the Snowman, the old 1969 classic, for the win!!  I think this was our first official family movie night with the boys!

Monte was focused the whole time!  And never let go of Gunnar's hand!

There are so many opportunities out in the world that could be considered more exciting or fun or worth my time and yet this evening there was no other place I'd rather be than snuggled down with my little family, watching Frosty, Christmas lights twinkling!

Life...

- I ran in an 80's 5k with some friends! It was fun!

- Thanksgiving happened... our kids got sick...

- Sighted in our new deer rifle...

- I promptly got to put it to the test.... Drilled him! Fill that freezer! I was OUT of ground meat!

- Watched the Aggies win their final game in the SEVENTH overtime!  (while taking care of sick kids who were having trouble sleeping)

- Been taking advantage of our new place and these cool evenings.

- Got dressed up, dropped the kids off, went to a fancy Christmas party, ate, danced, talked to fun people, didn't think to take a picture til we were in the Whataburger parking lot afterwards!

- Been enjoying cousins!

- Had a few movie "nap" times on Mom and Dad's bed!

- Gunnar got a deer. Caught and sold goats. Cut up meat. (Picture props go to Monte) Gunnar and I have a great system!  We both shoot them.  He guts, skins, and quarters them.  I cut them up, package and freeze them.  (We both do the processing, I just usually do most of it.  I hate packaging, he hates cutting it up. I like cutting it up, he likes packaging. Works out well!)

- For the first time in our marriage, we put Christmas lights up!

- Monte got to pick out some lights and choose where to put them.

- Have made walking to get the mail in the late afternoon a regular thing.  Really seems to help the evening until Daddy gets home from work go well.

- Had a special treat Chik Fil A breakfast!

- Been trying to enjoy this Christmas season!

 - While the dining room has been in the "gets worse before it gets better" phase of unpacking, we've enjoyed having a lot of picnics in the living room!

- Decorated our gate....

- Just trying to soak up this season with the boys.  They are both at such fun ages right now and even though they take so much work, they are oh so worth it!!
