On one of Gunnar's off days last week, we decided to do some exploring. The heifers could use some more mineral and salt blocks anyway. The boys love throwing rocks into the pond and there's an old collapsed house back there that Gunnar and I wanted to poke through. The wind was a little chilly but nothing so bad to just make you mad.
Dumping out salt blocks.

I like him.
Got his trusty rock like usual!
"Helping" spread out the mineral.
Always be curious!
"Hey, wait for me guys!"
Checking out a set of working pens we haven't been to before.
Livestock feed is always better if children play in it first! ;)
Finally made it to the water!! It's not really a pond but a windmill overflow tank. So right now it has a lot of water but it doesn't always if the pasture is empty.
Daddy and Kit
Troughs are pretty fun to play in too.
Finally made our way to the old house. It is much more fun to look around when it's cold and you're not worried about snakes!! We're not sure how old this house was or when it collapsed but it was fun to look around. Monte found a "BIG nail" that became his treasure for the day! He dropped it at one point and was heartbroken until we told him that we could find another one! Monte is pretty nimble and good at climbing so it's fun to watch him get to explore.
Kit was not as much of a fan and wanted to be held. Too many big obstacles for his liking!
Has his nail!
We walked past the house to check out more of the pasture. Kit would walk a few steps, find a rock, pick it up, walk a few more steps, find a "better" rock, drop the first one and pick up the next one, over and over again! Seriously! This kid and rocks! Just last night when I went to bed I discovered two little rocks on my nightstand!
Guys!! He's getting SO big!! Cue the tears!
"Climbing" trees!
Learning that cactus thorns usually win in a battle against tennis-shoes!
"Crazy Hair" as he loves to call it! He was cracking himself up with his hat hair!
Even though it was kinda chilly it was so fun to spend so much outside time with Daddy! The boys love to ride!
And just as a side note, my mom gave us a couple little outfits like this the other day and I said, "Oh great!! These are way too big right now and will be perfect for this summer!" Ummm yeah so NOT way too big!!
So cute but this outfit should not fit him yet! *sob*
