BTHO Bama....Or Not...

Reb came home to meet Kit the weekend A&M played Alabama. We all knew 'Bama would win, ok I knew, I think the rest of them had some hope A&M would pull it out...no such luck... Anyway back to the really important things in life...babies!!

Class of 2039!

Monte is such a ham when people are around, or even just with us!  He sure is cute though!

During halftime we went and enjoyed some sunshine and football tossing!  We always say that our huge yard would be great for playing football or catch etc and we were right!

Monte got in on the fun by "running" everywhere!  And by "running," I mean walking really fast and leaning forward.  ;)

Uncle Reb

Making Annie run with him!  We sure miss having Uncle around!

We love having such a great place to live to enjoy the outdoors!

Uncle finally got to meet Kit.

Hanging out with the guys!

After the game, Gunnar got the guys to help him out with a couple things that required lifting, something I can't help him with currently.  Monte was right in the middle of everything!

We all decided to ride along to go feed the calves! Even Kit!

Apparently Reb misses manual labor while at college and had to get a good dose in while he was here.

Wonder why people love West Texas? This! This is why!

We are discovering the difficulty in taking a good family picture the larger you family grows...Also, is it just me or do I look really tired?! haha

Home...

Home, it's a great place, and Gunnar being home just makes life better so his days off were enjoyed by all! I really do want to create a place where people love coming, a place of peace, a place that nurtures learning and creativity, a home, not just a house.  Hopefully we're on a great path to that!

Apparently we have created a monster. Monte LOVED when we let him ride with Gunnar! And by "loved" I mean that he rode all the way to the highway and back, THREE miles, and Gunnar said he laughed and giggled the whole time!

We enjoyed lots of morning snuggles!  Gunnar would go get Monte when he woke up and bring him to our bed.  Monte would and still does get so excited when he finds Kit!  I love it!

He really wants us to let him hold him by himself...not yet Son!

I loved watching moments like these!  Just the three of them, enjoying each other.

Also....this!  There has been lots of this!

Kit has gotten to enjoy time with extended family as well!  Our families have been great helping us transition to a two kid family!  Bringing us food, washing our dishes, and just general baby admiring!

 Napping with Uncle J

Aunt Sara snuggles!

Napping with Pickup!

Also super love that our boys with get to grow up so close to their cousin!  Three boys within 18 months promises to be a great adventure!!

While Gunnar was home we sorta caught up on some projects I needed his help with!  Monte was such a great helper (get in the way-er ;)

His new favorite game!

I get in the fun too!  Keeps him busy while I nurse!

Moments like this melt my heart!  Monte was quiet for a while the other day and I found him sitting in his room "reading" books!  This is why my heart so desires to develop a home where learning is encouraged and accessible!  Yeah he chews on books sometimes and makes messes but this also happens!  Having a good balance between allowing them to use their imaginations while destroying the house and being a good housekeeper is something I am continually trying to achieve.

I have managed to get things done while "resting," aka sitting... Operation finish our house is getting closer and closer to completion!

Before and Afters

Start 'em young! Raise 'em right!

Enjoying a full lap of happy boys!  Monte sure loves his new pajamas from Gran and Papa!

We have sure enjoyed meals from wonderful friends!  Even though we live far from town, friends still found ways to get food to our family!  So grateful for a great church body full of wonderful people!  Monte loved the guacamole from the Hills or maybe the Beavers...can't remember!

Super love this little munchkin!

 Snuggley pajamas!

Monte spent a lot of time with Gunnar feeding calves, checking waters, and working on the ranch.  Gunnar has started intentionally counting cows out loud when Monte is with him.  It's amazing how much kids learn through observation!  This is Monte imitating Gunnar counting!  Super cute!

And Then There Were Four

Introducing...

Kit Lawson Sullenger

Born October 12, 2016, 12:35 p.m. at 38 weeks 3 days

7 pounds 14 ounces

19 inches long

He decided to join the world a little earlier and a little smaller than his older brother.

 All snuggled up!

Nursing like a champ!! I sent this picture to Sara earlier and she said "Oh he's already getting fatter!"  He latched right away and nursed for about 7 minutes and then nursed 30 minutes a little later!

Meeting Monte and my parents.

Monte loved him right from the start!

Our little family!

"Oh the real world is so bright!"

Naps with Daddy are the best!

Monte asked to hold him on his second visit to the hospital!

"Whatcha looking at?!"

Meeting his great grandparents for the first time.

Meeting Uncle Reb for the first time!

My little snuggle bunny!  First Aggie Game Day!

First nap on his tummy!  He hates awake tummy time but naps well on his stomach!

8 pounds 9 ounces - 12 days old

He was 7 pounds 9 ounces when we left the hospital and had gained a pound by his two week appointment which actually ended up being when he was 12 days old.

Going home!  Monte wore the same outfit when he went home from the hospital.  It was a Christmas gift from my dad.

 Home Sweet Home

He has been sleeping well.  He usually does a 4-5 hour stretch then 3ish hours after that.

He sleeps in his bed until around 5 or 6 when I pull him into our bed for the rest of the night/morning.  Co-sleeping is just not for us but I sure do love those baby snuggles!!

Gets the hiccups so often.  Seriously several times a day!  I hate the hiccups so I feel bad for him but he doesn't honestly seem to mind.

Morning faces!

First time taking a pacifier.  I think he would do well with a pacifier he just keeps gagging when I try to get him to take one.  I think I may need to get smaller ones.

Sneak peak at newborns with Aunt Penny!! I am so excited about them!  I think they are going to turn out great!

Three weeks old today!!

First stroller ride to go let out the chickens!

I trapped them both so I could wash dishes!

He is an awesome baby!!  Sleeps well, eats well, and is content with life most of the time.  He has cried hard maybe a whole three times in his three weeks of life!  We sure love him!!  He seems to simply belong with us!  Monte loves him so much and I am looking forward to them growing up to be good friends!  I am so blessed to get to be his mom, their mom!

"Kit" was originally a nickname for "Christopher," which mean "Christ bearer" or "one who carries Christ."  When we found that out we loved his name even more.  To bestow our son with a legacy of carrying Christ with him wherever he sets his feet!

We love you Kit Lawson!  Welcome to the family!
