I think this post will just be a kind of stream of consciousness. Sound good? Ok, great!
I texted Gunnar one of these pictures the other day and his response struck me in the face so to speak! "Kelli, we made brothers!" Now obviously I already knew that but just something about the word, "brother" hit a nerve with me in a good way! Monte already LOVES Kit so much! Believe me refereeing Monte's constant, exuberant affection is exhausting! Wanting to encourage his love and desire to play with Kit, and yet wanting to keep Kit from being smashed, poked, hit, rolled, moved, and covered is a constant balancing act! They're already developing a relationship that I cherish! I mean Kit is only three months old and they already have their own special relationship! Monte can often make Kit smile when he won't even smile for me. Monte often brings his toys or books near Kit to play or read beside him. Talk about heart melting!

Gunnar has been working late often lately. A few evenings ago I just bundled Kit up, turned on some old country hymns, and we went outside and sat in the rocker! Enjoying the porch, the view, slowing down for just a moment and simply "being."( I did take a few pictures) It was good for my soul, and for the boys I think!
Monte wanted Kit down by him!
"Star!" We don't know who but somebody taught Monte that the shiny things up in the sky are stars too. He knows the shape star. He loves pointing them out!
I got him his own bathroom stool and his life was made! Monte is not a hard kid to delight, and I hope he never looses his joy about the little things in life! Day made! By a folding stool! Gunnar showed him one time, one, how to brush his teeth and he knew how. That kid is going to keep us on our toes! Love it! haha
Also, this! Girls, marry a man who will get down in the floor and play with your babies!

Moral of this post is to remember to slow down sometimes. Just "be". Reflect, ponder, cherish the moments. They're fleeting and precious and we will never get them back.

Precious moments to reflect on when they are teenagers. Monte reminds me of Terry and Daddy when it comes to paying attention to how things work. I am so happy that he and Kit are bonding. It is hard when siblings are so close in age.
