I'm sure you could tell from all my instagram over posting a week ago that we just spent a week at the river. And boy was it wonderful! The water was up from all the recent rains so the floats were quick and fabulous! One of our favorite floats starts at a place we simply call "the low water crossing," and one of the camp workers told us that on Memorial Day weekend the river was up 4 ft. above the highway! (So these pictures are, by no means, in order but I'm just going to go with it!)

Monte loved the water!! (to no one's surprise!) He loved picked up, licking, then throwing rocks! At first he was a little uncomfortable reaching into the water to grab the rocks but quickly gained confidence!
So when you try to get a picture of 4 kids 4 and under this is about the best you can get! Monte and his second cousins!

Monte loved the rapids whether it was holding our hands, in his little yellow tube, or riding with us on ours tubes.
He's just really bummed out about life... ;)
I want to remember this. He does this a lot lately.. Scrunches his shoulders, points, and makes a funny little noise... So weird and cute!

We took Monte on two short floats. The first time he rode with Gunnar and the second time with me! He was so fascinated by all there was to take in, he looked kinda sad in the pictures but he was just so focused on all the people, rapids, water, trees, and whatever else it was hard to break his concentration to smile!

Getting ready... Gunnar's family has been going to the same campground every summer since Gunnar was ten months old! They have it down to a science! From food to tubes to set up and clean up! They are pros!
