Kit Lawson - 6 Month Photoshoot

Finally getting around to posting Kit's 6 month photo shoot!  You see when your photographer is your sister she can just come spend the night at your house and be there for the early morning light! Perk! It was pretty chilly so we only got a few outside with Kit happy.

Penny told me this is called "dirty photography" or journalistic style photography.  I didn't even know she took these and kinda love them.  Sorta the beauty of messy real life...

We did blocks with Monte so I want to do blocks with all our kids at their 6 month shoot.  Plus it's the last time they get to just be a little baby playing with toys on the floor.

Chub alert!

He does this all the time so I'm glad she caught it!

I mean seriously, look at that gut!  hahaha

Naked brothers!  I love that they already make each other laugh (and cry but we'll just focus on the good here)

Love this one!

 My sweet Kit boy!

So here's a comparison of Monte and Kit, each on their 6 month shoot.

So much fat!! hehe

 Thanks Aunt Penny!!

Zoo

Last Thursday we decided to brave the potential weather and hit the Abilene Zoo.  I grew up taking zoo trips once or twice a year with other friends and families so I was pleasently surprised with how much they have improved it over the years.  Monte was just old enough to really "get it" and loved looking at the animals although I think his favorite part was running up and down the ramps, hills, and bridges!

We have been trying to teach him about snakes and that we don't touch them since we have rattlers around here to the reptile house proved to be a great opportunity for him to see a real snake and not just a picture and learn "no no no no!!!"

He also got to try his first hot dog which he was pretty unimpressed with...

Kit won't take a bottle but did enjoy chewing on the nipple a lot.  I would squeeze some down his mouth often too help keep him cool and hydrated.  He did great in the stroller and looked around and "talked" a lot!

Growing up, my favorite part was always the giraffes and turns out it was my favorite part as an adult too!  Monte even got brave enough to feed one himself!

Turned his cap backward for the first time and oh my gosh is he cute!! haha I know I'm a little biased but really, there's nothing cuter than a chubby, sweaty, little boy!

We capped off the day with a little furniture shopping... ahhh it's so hard to choose!  Any living room furniture advice would be greatly welcomed!  haha

Mother's Day

Mother's Day weekend was quite enjoyable if I do say so!  It was Ann and Sid's day to have Monte Saturday so Ann met me in town at gymnastics and held Kit while I helped Monte then took Monte home with her.  Sid bought Monte a "pool" so when I got there later that evening Monte was in heaven "swimming!"

Ann fixed ribs and we had a wonderful relaxing evening!  Monte played in the water so long his teeth were chattering and he couldn't talk but he still didn't want to get out! After the boys were in bed we sat outside and shot bows.

Sunday morning I ran into Mertzon and dropped little gifts off for Mom, Penny, Sara, and Gran.  Gran and Papa ending up talking Sara and I into staying for breakfast!  We were there all of 30 seconds before Monte had EVERY toy dumped out onto the floor! Kit was fascinated with Papa and the noises he kept making and would stare soo intently at his mouth trying to figure it out!

He thinks I'm funny!

See, every toy!!

That evening Gunnar and I had decided to just be home with our little family and it was PERFECT!  We sat outside and Gunnar grilled me steak and poppers!  We had a baby goat for a couple days, and still have kittens so it was a zoo!  I cleaned out the tub we used for our chicks house and filled it with water for our very own LP swimming pool!

ummm umm good!

Dad gave Gunnar a brand new grill he had gotten somewhere and Gunnar was so excited to use it!  "It just started right away without a lighter!" "It's STAYING lit!!" "There's a catch pan for the grease!!" As you can tell our last grill was a bit of a disaster! hehe

I love that Gunnar caught this moment.  Seems a perfect depiction of motherhood on Mother's Day. Helping remove a sticker and proving that kisses make everything better!

ahhh our carport is soo messy!! That is the top to-do list item this week and it already is a lot better BUT it was such a great evening!  Enjoying the weather, the animals, each other, our home!

We probably put Kit BACK onto the blanket ten times before just giving up and letting him go for it!  A much needed bath was the end of our evening!

I thought I'd let him see a kitty and I think the kitty might still be bitter toward me ;)

I love our little family and the three boys I get to call my own!   Truly blessed!
