Little Life Moments

The boys both put my shoes on the other day and found themselves completely hilarious!  I LOVE when they crack each other up!

Kit was hiding behind  Monte which they also found so so funny!

I love these two brothers.  Steele reminds me so much of Monte as a baby, it almost feels deja vu ish.

Happy snuggles.

Monte always wants one of us to build with him these days.  Legos, blocks, marbles, sticks outside, it doesn't matter.  Just to be clear, I had built this farm with him that morning and he was showing Gunnar before bed.

My friend Brittany and I have been kid swapping once a week!  One week her kids come here and the next my older two go there.  She lives right down the road from me so it's so easy and wonderful!  Mason and Monte were playing hide 'n' seek from Kit and Shiloh!

Shiloh is determined to make Steele take a pacifier and more power to her I say!! I feel like a pacifier would help him sometimes but he is still boycotting the darn thing.

Monte went through a doll phase for a couple of days where he would do something to his doll and ask, "Is this how you_______ to Steele Mama?"  Here he was asking, "Is this how you hold Steele on your shoulder?"

I had a random urge to do a puzzle the other day and it was on a night that we had let Monte stay up a little longer than Kit.  Darn kid climbed up there with me and actually helped!  Found edge pieces and even matched some!

Somebody found his toes!

Aunt Penny met us at the library before taking Monte on a "date" last week.  They went to the park and threw rocks and sticks into the river, and went and saw the trains I think.

We realized that we used our fire pit area a lot last year and have hardly used it at all this year.  Now that it has rained a few times and things are fairly damp down there we have been trying to spend more time out there, making fires and cooking hotdogs!

Checking fence lines with Daddy.

Kit kept talking about being in the "100 acre wood" although he was pronouncing it so funny.  Man I don't remember, maybe if I ask him he'll say it again.  He and Monte were making stuff up while we walked along!
*Edit* ok I asked him, and we were in the "dacre woods"

Climbing a fence while wearing a baby like a boss!

Got him!

Kit's love language is physical touch so if Gunnar ever tries to work out while Kit is around you better believe that Gunnar will be getting some "help!"

Well it finally happened, one of my kids cut his own hair!  I mean there's a flat out bald spot in one place.  I think we're just going to buzz it all and let it grow back out.

Snow Day

We had a snow day today!  Although by "snow" I mean a slight dusting, BUT the boys thought it was the best thing ever!  Especially Kit, "It's on EVERYTHING!" he said, so excited!  Gunnar worked from home so that was a nice treat too to have him home in the middle of the week.  The boys and I bundled up a couple times and mostly played on the trampoline where the snow melted the slowest.  Kit's had a little cold the last few days so we didn't let him stay out too long.

Monte went inside and I got to spend some time outside with Kit alone.  Since that rarely happens I tried to make the most of it and really enjoy him!  He is at such a cute age and I love watching his personality develop!

The boys didn't really understand the "work from home" concept and wanted Gunnar's attention the whole time.  He got a lot of done in spite of all the interruptions but did tell me out of exasperation once, "If either of us ever work from home for real, we HAVE to get an office....with a door!"

All Monte wanted to do was find snow to eat!  blah!

Gunnar made it out to play with us after lunch.  The boys just wanted to wrestle and throw snow at him!

After lunch we all snuggled up on our bed and watched a Christmas movie that the boys had been begging to watch for a while.  We made popcorn to share and Gunnar and I might have dozed off.  All in all it was a very wonderful and weird day!!

Steele Samuel - 4 Months Old

Steele turned four months old this weekend!

- Weight -

- Clothes - 6-9 months!  About 3 weeks ago I had to pull out the bigger clothes because I had TWO pairs of 3-6 month pants that weren't too tight on his tummy!  As I pulled out 6-9 month stuff I thought it would be way too big...it was not...not at all!  ahhh he's just so big!

- Size 3 diapers

- First time wearing earmuffs!

- Naps 3 times a day normally.  Two short and one long, 2-4 hour one.  Usually one of those short naps still happens in the swing, although I see that being over soonish.

- LOVES Monte!  And he loves Steele too!  Steele laughs and smiles more at Monte than anyone.

- Has heart melting grins.  Has been acting like he might be getting teeth, seems WAY too young, but he's been chewing nonstop on his fists and drooling buckets.  No teeth so far though.

- HAS to have that fist, although lately he often just has his thumb.  I think we might still end up with a thumb sucker on our hands.

- Gives the sweetest head snuggles when he's tired or just woke up.  Gunnar loves them!

- Rolled over from tummy to back.  I was in the kitchen and Monte yells, "Mama he rolled over!!"  I went over and put him back on his tummy and he rolled again and looked like he shocked himself.

-Best "just woke up" faces!  Speaking of sleep, last weekend he completely forgot how!  I think he was in a developmental leap, especially with him rolling over now and he just woke up soooo much!  And of course Gunnar was out of town when it happened so I didn't even have back up.   One night he woke up over and over and just cried and cried all night, I seriously have no idea what was up!  The next night he nursed maybe 6 or 7 times, after fighting bedtime for 3 hours, but went right back to sleep after each nursing session which seemed glorious after the night before! The next night he didn't wake up until 4:50 to nurse then back down til after 7:00 and it's been like that ever since!

- Barely fits in the bumbo anymore.  Those thighs man!

- Has SO many fat rolls!  He's so fat that one of his rolls chaffed, and cracked and bled!  It pretty much healed in one nap, seriously, but I still felt so bad!!  From then on I have had to keep a close eye on them and coconut oil them up to keep them healthy!

Working the camera in all his chubby glory!

- Never stays where I lay him down!  If he's on his stomach, he ooches forward (unintentionally) and if he's on his back he spins and spins.  Basically a blanket is pointless!

- Has no concept of sitting yet, but will sometimes stay up for a few seconds without realizing he's doing it.

- Went shopping alone with Mama one day... He seemed a little confused.

- LOVES his borrowed from Aunt Sara bouncer!! From the day he was born he has wanted to be upright as much as possible!  Even though he can grab and play with toys now and plays well on his tummy, he still just doesn't last long on the floor, he wants to be up where he can see!! Now when you holding him standing up he tries to jump and bounce as if he was in the bouncer!

- Loves bath time!  Kicks and kicks and wears himself out and then falls asleep way too quickly at bedtime.  After 30 minutes to an hour, he wakes up and actually nurses for bed.

- Has started taking a pacifier again....sometimes!  If he wakes up during a nap the pacifier will sometimes get him back down and it will sometimes distract him for a few seconds.   And only these blue ones!
