Steele Samuel is two months of awesomeness!
- Weight - 7 weeks - 13 pounds 5 ounces and I bet he's even bigger now!
- Size 0-3 months, AND 3-6 months! I had to pull out the 3-6 month pants because all the 3 months pants are too tight on his tummy now. Most 0-3 month onsies and pjs are getting too short too so I'm going to have to totally move him to 3-6 months clothes soon! Chunky monkey!
- First ever time in the wrap. I am so grateful that he likes being worn! Kit never did and that would just make life way harder! He also does ok in the ergo.
- Usually does an eight hour stretch at night but has done nine and ten hour stretches also. I'm trying not to get used to it because I'm sure when he hits another growth spurt he'll throw a couple more feeding in at night but it is so glorious for now! Goes to bed around 8 or 9, then wakes up anywhere between 3-6 to nurse then back down til after 7:00. We'll see if it lasts but it sure is nice for now!
Crashed Mama and Daddy's date!
Still prefers being upright but finally can be happy on his back. I think we are resolving his tummy issues so he's comfortable on his back now.
- Still gets violent hiccups although not everyday anymore. He did get them three times yesterday and has them right now so I'm not sure if it actually is getting better or not. They still make him mad, poor thing!
- Smiling, grinning, cooing, talking, watching the boys, and aware of life!
- Has started following the boys if they are playing near by when he's on his play mat.
- Likes his play mat now and can see and try to grab the toys.
- His eyes are still blue and appear to be lightening. I just seriously doubt we could have a blue eyed baby but it is possible so we'll see. I still think that they'll turn brown.
- Only lost a tiny bit of hair right above his forehead.
- Has boycotted the pacifier but chews/sucks on his fist all the time now.
- Likes walks in the stroller but HATES the car seat!
- Has found his thumb several times but always ends up stabbing himself in the eyeball.
- Still has a pretty no fun witching hour. Makes getting supper ready and everyone ready for bed pretty not fun but fortunately it does seem to be shortening and not lasting as long as it used to.
- Got a new cousin friend! Tucker Elaine joined the cousin crew two months and a day after Steele.
- First camp fire!

- So squishy!
- Held out while the rest of us got the flu! So thankful that he did not get sick too! I decided to make him nurse once an hour when we first got it to get as many antibodies into him as possible but then he just nursed that much because he wanted to! He hit a growth spurt right as we all got sick. How awesome is our God! But then, he SERIOUSLY grew overnight!! He was eating once an hour and the next morning I laid him on my legs and he was actually longer! Gunnar agreed! Crazy! That was after his last wellness appointment so he hasn't been weighed or measured since and I'm curious to see what he weighs now.
- Sleeps in his crib until around 5 something, then Gunnar usually gets him and brings him to me in bed where he nurses and falls asleep until 7 something when he wakes up for the day.
- Started to look less like Monte and more just like himself, but just the last week or so, he looks SO MUCH like Monte did at this age again.
- Definitely interacting with his brothers now and they LOVE it!! "Baby Steele smiled at me!"
- HATES being cold!! yikes!
- First Thanksgiving
- Been the subject of funny Uncle instagram posts.
- No schedule per say yet but generally follows somewhat of a pattern . Usually takes one long, 2-4 hour, nap a day and then several shorter, 15 min. - 1 hour, naps a day. Time of day for his long nap varies depending, it seems, on how tired he is from the day before. i.e. long day in town, early long nap the next day.
