Rope swings and metal boats

I've been trying to tan some before the wedding. The only problem is that usually this time of year I run a lot in the early afternoons and get a lot of sun that way. Well because of the shape of the dress I'm wearing in the wedding, I can't have the razor back tan line that I'm usually sporting this time of year. So today we decided to have some fun while getting some sun at the same time. Penny, Jonathan and I took out one of Mr. Jim's boats and had ourselves some creek fun not excluding a rope swing and a few trees!

Penny and Jonathan took us on a rather zig zagged path down the creek. We never really did master the art of going straight!

Our first attempt at getting a picture of all three of us. None of them really worked out all that well!

To get in the rather cold water we decided to row to a tree they knew about, tie our anchor to it, climb into the tree from the boat (NOT the easiest feat in the world) and then jump into the water to jump get it over with all at once.

Penny went first. (love the hair)

Jonathan

My turn!

After we had jumped in!

Our second attempt at a picture of all three of us. Penny's face looks rather squished and you can't even hardly see Jonathan.

Third and final attempt. We gave up after this!

We made it to the rope swings next. They were across the creek from the tree. There was a short one that Jonathan is going off of here and there was a tall one. If you look at the tree in the background you can see a ladder leaning against the tree. To get to the tall swing you had to climb up that ladder (which was crooked and tied to the tree) and then use a smaller rope to pull in the actual rope swing.

I was going to try it but chickened out so Penny decided she had to show her big sister up. (yeah didn't realize that the leaves were in front of her face)

We both did it one time. It took me FOREVER to go the first time and then we swam back over to the boat and brought it and the camera across the creek to the rope swings and documented our second attempts on the swing.

Penny going off the tall rope swing!

My turn! As you can see you had to sit on your butt and kinda slide off the tree to swing out.

Hahaha My very graceful form.... not!

Penny was pretending to be Mr. Lewis (ya know Lewis and Clark) and right when I snapped the picture she moved and now looks like a river diva or something :)
